Mogusaen Garden, famous for its ume (Japanese apricot) blossoms, is conjectured to be the site of Shinjihiji Temple which was built by Kamakura Shogunate. In the Edo period, Shorenji Temple was built in this place and became famous as a scenic beauty in the suburbs of Edo. After having been abondoned for a while, it was repaired and opened to the public as Mogsaen Garden in the Meiji period. Now, this place is in the possession of Keio Corporation. #Japanesegarden #beautifulgarden #Japaneseapricot #ume
